The cranesbills that make up the Jolly Jewel® Series are noted for their colourful flowers, which appear over a long period from late spring to early autumn. Hardy and easy to grow, they are excellent in pots, and will also make handsome evergreen groundcover in a rock garden or at the front of the border. Tolerant of most soils provided they are not too wet, they can be grown in full sun or partial shade and require little maintenance. They are also quite resistant to attack from slugs and snails.
In each collection you will receive one plant of each of the following cultivars. Supplied in 9cm pots.
Geranium cinereum Jolly Jewel Purple ('Noortpur') (PBR) A fab new hardy geranium that produces its pinkish purple flowers over a really long time, offering several months of colour. It's ideal for a low maintenance garden, as once established, it needs very little attention, but it is still incredibly rewarding. The flowers appear in generous numbers, and they are a vibrant colour, so really add a bit of oomph to the colour palette. It makes a superb addition to pots and borders. Grows to 15cm tall.
Geranium cinereum Jolly Jewel Hot Pink ('Noortjjhpi') (PBR) The incredibly long fowering period makes this new hardy geranium a must have. The flowers are a really vibrant pink, and they start appearing in late spring or early summer above low mounds of fresh green foliage. The flowers keep on coming throughout the summer and often dont stop until the temperatures really start to drop well into autumn.Grows to 25cm tall.
Geranium cinereum Jolly Jewel Salmon ('Noortsal') (PBR) Just recently introduced, this showy little plant really packs a long-lasting punch. The saucer-shaped flowers are a bright salmon orange, and they appear in good number (particularly if grown in a sunny spot) for several months from late spring to mid, or even late, autumn. Use it to plug gaps at the front of the border, or add low-maintenance colour to a patio pot. Grows to 15cm tall.
- Garden care: Carefully weed by hand as hoeing can break rhizomes, which are very close to the surface. Lift and divide large colonies in spring.
