Liven up the late summer planting scheme with this showy perennial. It has tubular flowers, which emerge from orange buds and turn rich apricot with a pink flush as they mature. These appear over several months and will help attract beneficial insects including bees. The sunset colouring of the flowers makes it a great mixer, offering contrasts for purple and blue and toning with golds and coppers.

  • Garden care: Don't cut back the faded flower-stems in until early spring, as they provide interest in the winter months. Lift and divide congested colonies in spring.
