The mid-green leaves of this semi-evergreen climber are tinged with purple in winter, and emerge flushed with bronze in spring. It makes an ideal backdrop for the scented, cream coloured flowers, which appear in spring. It's great for covering ugly walls, and it also works really well trained over a pergola, where the pendent flower clusters can be viewed from below.
- Garden care: Prune back after flowering where necessary.
